4Wbb - Professional Communication Equipment

The 4WBB is a compact, belt-clip, 9 V battery-powered intercom beltpack for headset use. Several selectable operating modes cover a wide range of studio and outside-broadcast situations — cameramen talkback, commentator IFB, party-line conference.

The IFB (Interrupted Feedback) mode is normally used to talk to a commentator by ducking the program audio in their headset when TALK is pressed. In 2-wire mode the 4WBB can be paralleled with other units for party-line conference (cameramen talkback, typically on channel A). The mic signal is heard in the headset as a sidetone to confirm the beltpack is working.

An auxiliary 3.5 mm jack input is available in any mode to monitor a line-level source (tape player, CD player, etc.). Even with the battery flat, the 4WBB keeps the line signal in loop-through so communications with the connected intercom system are not interrupted.
