Commentatorx6 - Professional Communication Equipment

The Commentator x 6 is a 4-unit interface that lets 6 commentators with headset/microphone operate simultaneously: 3 reporter terminals plus 1 central unit, all on a single intercom channel for talkback to the director.

A particular feature of the Commentator x 6 is that the four units connect through ordinary unshielded flat cables, even over long distances, which simplifies installation in venues where running shielded cable is impractical. Each reporter station has 2 XLR headset/microphone inputs, with one button per commentator for intercom talk to the director.

The central unit is 1 RU 19" (430 × 170 × 44 mm) and houses 6 XLR outputs (one per commentator mic) to feed the audio mixer, plus 2 XLRs for the intercom line. It runs on 220 VAC. The three reporter terminals (200 × 150 × 63 mm each) are powered by 48 V over the flat cables — no local power needed.
