Tbp16 - Professional Communication Equipment

The TBP16 is the central unit of a 16-channel hands-free professional intercom, with up to 16 EL4400/S remote stations. The TBP16 normally sits in the control room or commentary booth, while the EL4400/S stations are spread across the connected rooms (e.g. editing rooms).

Connection between an EL4400/S and the TBP16 is enabled by the lever switch on the EL4400/S; the LED on the lever lights up to confirm the link is active. The system works on a priority basis — the EL4400/S connected to port 1 has the highest priority, port 16 the lowest. If multiple EL4400/S try to talk at once, the higher-priority station wins. An Interrupted Feedback Input (IFB In) brings the programme audio into the intercom.
